I'm currently completing a Masters of Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, and I have a Graduate Certificate in Autism & Behavioural Sciences from Mohawk College. Additionally, I graduated from McMaster University with Honours in Linguistic Cognitive Science.
Experience
I have had 8 years of volunteer tutoring experience while I was in my last year in high school and during my university career. My young attitude and flair add excitement to a sometimes difficult experience for children. A tutor is a motivator and a form of peer guidance. My hard work and passion for life is abundant, and to share it with a child who needs that extra push is my ultimate dose of "happy!" Some of my relevant past experience includes working as a Peer Motivator and Event Planner at the Halton Health Department, where I was chosen from 30 candidates to become Burlington's first-ever Health Peer Motivator. This position helped me build public speaking, organizational, and interpersonal skills. I also served an Internship in Development Delay Counseling and was an Intensive Reading program Instructor at Cathy Weaver Elementary. Prior to that, I was a Support Worker providing counseling and support for children with multiple psychological diagnoses. My other qualifications include my certification up to level 3 in American Sign Language, strong experience with R programming and Microsoft Office, and my current pursuit of ABA certifications.
