I am a Master of Psychology graduate fluent in Cantonese & English and basic Mandarin. Currently, I am working full-time as a Psychometrist with The Ministry of Children and Youth Services. I recently completed my Forensic practicum at two provincial correctional facilities.
Experience
During my undergraduate years at The University of Toronto, I tutored students on a voluntary basis. Currently, I provide tutoring services to a 3rd-year undergraduate student attending The University of Toronto, a second-year student who has a learning disability from Seneca College, and online tutoring for a 3rd year Psychology International student attending college in New York. I have tutored quite a number of students in Psychology. In addition, I currently tutor undergraduate students in their Psychology courses. I am currently tutoring three College - University level undergraduates in Psychology. For me, one of the most important strategies is establishing a connection with the student that I help out. I would say I am kind of laid back when interacting with students, but at the same time, I ensure they truly grasp the concepts of Psychology while they learn. I have worked with students with disabilities also (currently I am facilitating a student with Asperger's syndrome) and students whose first language isn't English, so I am comfortable at understanding some of the challenges students may go through and that we each have our own unique learning style. In addition to offering psychology course tutoring, I also help students in preparing for their examinations, quizzes, and presentations. In psychology, I am familiar with formatting papers to APA 6 style, using endnote for reference. I also have several years of work experience as a Research Assistant in the Division of Neurosurgery at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.
